Abstract

One of the performance objectives of DSS is that a DSS should support all phases of the decision making process. After concluding the achievements of several research projects, a theoretical model named ″The Generation Model for DSS Supporting All phases of the Decision Making Process″ (Abbr. GMSPDM) is proposed, and the technical elements of the model are also analyzed. In essence, the model can provide a group of DSS techniques. Given an actual problem, a group of DSS techniques are generated from the model, and through some specific operations, a specific decision support system is established. A decision support system supporting all phases of the decision making process can be constructed, or a decision support system supporting some phases of the decision making process can be established, by making use of the model.
