Abstract

This chapter proposes a conceptual model to position Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) as a collaborative partner in nurturing learner passion, moving beyond its utility as a tool to become a transformative cultural catalyst in education. Framed within the context of diverse cultural narratives and practices, the model explores how GenAI can evolve learning passions through five interconnected dimensions: intelligent interest development, intelligent resource recommendation, intelligent instant feedback, intelligent education management, and intelligent teaching, each informed by distinct cultural and contextual elements. These dimensions reflect GenAI's potential to shape culturally adaptive learning spaces that respond to the dynamic needs of learners and educators across global contexts. By emphasizing the interplay between GenAI's capabilities and the cultural dimensions of education, this chapter highlights how technology can support the co-creation of ethical, culturally responsive, and engaging educational environments. Ultimately, this conceptual model envisions a symbiotic partnership between GenAI and human educators, collaboratively cultivating learning environments that inspire passion, foster equity, and honor diverse cultural narratives in higher education.
