Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence in higher education presents new opportunities to enhance student engagement, personalise learning, and support complex knowledge acquisition. This study presents the implementation of an AI Teaching Agent within the MFE309TC Robotics and Automatic System Integrated Technology module. The AI Agent, deployed through the XIPU AI platform, was designed to support student-centred learning through personalised questioning, bilingual interaction, and scaffolded cognitive engagement based intervention during the Academic Year 2025 26. Student perception data, module evaluation results, and comparative analysis with the previous academic year were used to assess effectiveness. Results showed favourable student responses, with Likert-scale scores ranging from 3.65 to 4.25 and module satisfaction scores reaching 4.90 across all evaluation criteria. Students generally perceived the AI Teaching Agent as supportive of engagement, personalised learning, and conceptual understanding in robotics education.
