Abstract

Presented in this chapter is the synthetic and structural chemistry of lanthanoid alkoxide and hydroxide complexes. The development of synthetic methodologies, salient structure features, in particular the diverse coordination modes of ligands, and niche applications in chemistry and materials science of these substances are detailed. Special efforts have been made to illustrate how these two sub-areas of lanthanide coordination chemistry are intertwined.
