Abstract

Chaotic maps are valuable in cryptography due to their complex dynamical behavior, unpredictability, high sensitivity to initial conditions and parameters, and ergodic nature. This behavior makes them ideal for securing data and generating unpredictable outputs. Nevertheless, the practicality of many chaos-based cryptographic systems is hindered by several drawbacks, including suboptimal computational efficiency, inadequate security measures, and a constrained keyspace, which collectively limit their real-world applicability. To conquer these restrictions, this research presents an enhanced 5D-memristive hyperchaotic map that combines the differential Lorenz system with a memristive hyperchaotic framework which provides the system with a highly complex structure. The proposed chaotic system's binary sequences undergo evaluation using NIST test suite to assess their level of unpredictability. The results indicate that the chaotic framework demonstrates diverse dynamical characteristics, exhibiting high sensitivity to initial conditions while maintaining a strong degree of randomness. Consequently, this system can be utilized within a stream cipher for secure encryption. Our system demonstrates a substantial enhancement in both keyspace and computational speed over preceding models, rendering it highly suitable for security-centric applications, advanced computer simulations, and spread spectrum wireless communications.
