Abstract

UV-VIS spectroscopy is used to study the selective binding of enantiomeric pairs of chiral epoxides to an ααββ binaphthyl-strapped A1 porphyrin; the binding selectivity correlates to the enantioselectivity in the epoxidation of alkenes catalyzed by its Fe analog.
