Abstract

This proposed design explores the shifting visual and emotional relationship between land and sea.
The watchtower, with its solidity and monumental presence, symbolizes the stability, gravity,
and rootedness of the land. It generates a sense of mystery, making it an appropriate space
for artistic exhibitions and interactive studios, where creativity and dialogue are grounded
within a firm architectural setting.
In contrast, the lighthouse embodies transparency and openness, representing the vast and
boundless horizon of the sea. Its expansive atmosphere reconnects both artists and visitors
to nature and authenticity. Within this lighter spatial context, temporary markets and
residential units are arranged in a more dispersed manner, dissolving into the surrounding
environment.
The stairway serves as a key transitional element. As one ascends, the spatial character
gradually shifts from enclosed to open, from heavy to light, from contemplation to
connection. This continuous transformation not only bridges land and sea on a physical level,
but also frames the emotional and perceptual dialogue between stillness and movement,
introspection and exploration.
At this stage, the focus remains on the conceptual dimension of the design. Structural and
technical considerations have not yet been fully developed, as the intention is to first
establish the spatial and emotional framework before moving toward detailed resolution.
