Abstract
Diabetes is a prevalent chronic condition affecting millions worldwide. Noninvasive blood glucose sensing offers a revolutionary approach for early detection and real-time monitoring, promoting better health management. Electromagentic (EM) wave sensors provide a noninvasive way of detecting blood glucose ensuring the comfort of the patient. This chapter delves into the working principle and design considerations for the EM wave sensors. The state-of-the-art of the EM sensors has also been studied to assess their design techniques, operating frequency bands, selected sensing parameter, and their exhibited sensitivities. This chapter also investigates the challenges of the current literature and the possible future directions for better implementation of EM sensors.
