The aim of this project is to create a grant application relating to university led industrial parks in Melbourne, Victoria.

Five National Innovation and Employment Districts have been developed under policies developed by the Australian Government. All of them are in Melbourne, Victoria and 4 are associated with Universities. Each exhibits different development trajectories, with significant differences in approach and outcomes to date. Although innovation districts are not precisely the same as industrial parks, they pursue similar goals. This set of developments provides excellent conditions for a natural experiment, on University engagement in innovation districts, given that the marco political/governance conditions are the same across all four universities.
