Project Details
Description
This project intends to investigate the effectiveness of the In-Class Tests (ICTs), the perceptions of the stakeholders (students and teachers from the EAP107 module) on them, and how this new type of assessment can be further improved.
Key findings
The main contributions of this project include: (1) The evaluation of the innovative low-stakes early-assessment (ICTs) verifies its effectiveness, which provides unlimited possibilities of adapting this assessment form in various modules at XJTLU to enhance teaching and assessment quality; (2) This new teaching-assessment method sets an example regarding in-class student engagement for different modules in different programmes at XJTLU; (3) The conclusion of this study justifies the use of this new teaching-assessment method (ICTs) as an instrument for teachers to avoid possible AI overuse by students at XJTLU and in broader contexts.
