Description

This project seeks to revolutionize the RBE301 System Design in Robotics module by integrating advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to aid in the robot design and implementation process. The initiative aims to provide students with AI-assisted tools for generating visual designs, offering guidance in robotic simulation, and incorporating intelligent functionalities into their robot prototypes. In this collaborative course, students work in groups to design and build several robots. One of our inherent advantages is that this is a Syntegrative Education module, meaning we already have industry experts involved in guiding students. By introducing this project, we aim to address limitations previously faced due to financial constraints, restricted resources, and the lack of 3D printing accessibility, which hindered students from incorporating more AI-related features into their designs. Additionally, students lacked appropriate facilities to continue developing their robots outside of class hours. By providing better access to AI technologies and improving resources such as 3D printing and development spaces, this project promises to enhance the educational outcomes of the course. It empowers students with hands-on experience in designing intelligent robots while fostering innovation in modern robotics education.
