Project Details
Description
• Designed the China-specific CloudBand roadmap, ensuring alignment with local infrastructure requirements and market demand.
• Led the development, bidding, and delivery of NFV cloud solutions for China’s three major telecom operators.
• Facilitated the deployment of CloudBand’s core software products—CBIS, CBAM, and CBND—in China.
• Coordinated with global teams in Israel and the United States, contributing to Bell Labs’ global joint innovation framework.

Key findings
• Achieved RMB 8 million in sales in 2013, with successful commercial deployment across all three major Chinese telecom operators.
• CloudBand products and integrated solutions were deployed in 45 countries worldwide, becoming a core platform for telecom cloud computing.
• Contributed as first author to Chapter 12, “Carrier-Grade Distributed Cloud Computing: Demands, Challenges, Designs, and Future” in the international reference book Communication Infrastructures for Cloud Computing (IGI Global, 2013).
The CloudBand initiative was a global collaborative innovation project within Bell Labs, pioneering the application of distributed cloud computing and NFV technologies in the telecom sector. It laid the groundwork for subsequent industry developments in cloud platform integration and service migration. This project demonstrated the effectiveness of combining international R&D collaboration with local market adaptation, while giving me critical experience in carrier-grade distributed cloud computing, cross-border cooperation, and technology commercialization. These insights later informed my leadership in driving AI applications across industries and regions.
