Description

Lingnan mangosteen (Garcinia oblongifolia) is a medicinal plant of the Garcinia genus, rich in prenylated xanthones, which exhibit antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer properties. However, the biosynthetic mechanism of these compounds remains unclear. Previous screening has identified a prenyltransferase gene sequence. This study aims to clone the gene, construct an expression vector, and validate its function. Additionally, molecular simulation will be used to analyze the three-dimensional structure-function relationship of the enzyme, exploring its role in the biosynthetic pathway. This research seeks to enhance understanding of its metabolic mechanisms and provide theoretical support for the development of novel drugs.
