Description
An IFB-HUB applied project investigating fulfilment and logistics strategies for cross-border e-commerce using the Amazon US mattress market as the empirical context. The project combined structured marketplace data collection, fulfilment-method analysis, competitor benchmarking, pricing, seller information and product characteristics to examine patterns affecting fulfilment decisions. The project aimed to translate marketplace evidence into practical decision support for fulfilment strategy optimisation, competitor monitoring and logistics-related decision making for cross-border e-commerce sellers.
Key findings
The analysis identified dominant fulfilment patterns among leading mattress products on Amazon US, including differences in FBA, FBM and third-party fulfilment, Prime eligibility and delivery windows. The findings also highlighted how seller type, product characteristics, logistics cost and market competition influence fulfilment strategy, providing an evidence base for cross-border e-commerce fulfilment decision support.
