Lawal is dedicated to identifying sustainable ways of planning, developing, managing, and interacting with African cities. Currently pursuing a PhD focused on contributing to the rethinking of smart cities in African contexts, he holds an MSc in Urban Planning from the University of Liverpool and Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University University. He has practical experience in Nigeria’s Town planning field and, through private consultancy, has been involved in projects of different scales in all geo-political zones of the country.
