Personal profile

Fang Liu is an Associate Professor and Deputy Dean of the Academy of Film and Creative Technology at XJTLU. She possesses extensive expertise in digital media arts, visual effects, interactive and game design, as well as immersive technologies such as AR, VR, and MR. She plays a leading role in curriculum development, integrating state-of-the-art tools including AIGC, motion capture, and interactive media across various modules.

Prof. Liu has secured and directed multiple research grants in areas like human-centred computer vision and metaverse applications in cultural tourism. Her research has been published in prestigious journals and conferences.

An award-winning educator and researcher, she has received honours such as the Gold Award at the Busan International Art Festival and the Outstanding Supervisor Award in both provincial and national competitions. Under her mentorship, students have earned numerous national and international accolades and gained admission to top-tier global institutions including the University of Cambridge, Carnegie Mellon University, and the Royal College of Art.

Prof. Liu actively engages in academic service, international conferences, and industry partnerships, consistently driving innovation in digital media education and creative technology.
