Personal profile
Dr. Chang Kim is an Assistant Professor of Sustainable Business at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. He also serves as the Deputy Director of Global Affairs for the College of Industry-Entrepreneurs. His primary research interests include green human resource management, green dynamic capabilities, and circular business models. In 2023, the Academy of Management designated his paper, based on his PhD research, as the 'Best Paper' at the 83rd Annual Meeting (Division: Organizations and the Natural Environment).
He is a member of the Circular Economy Working Group at the International Trade Centre in Geneva, Switzerland. Additionally, he acts as a subject matter expert on the circular economy agenda for the Korean Environmental Industry & Technology Institute, a quasi-governmental organisation affiliated with the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Korea.
Prior to his current role, he served as a Lecturer at Republic Polytechnic in Singapore for 6 years (2013-2019), where he chaired modules in Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour. He continues to contribute to the field as an editorial board member for the Journal of Organization and Management (Korean) and as Vice President for the Korean Association of Human Resource Development, a national academic society in South Korea. His opinion and interview pieces have appeared in Nature, Times Higher Education, and leading media outlets in South Korea.
