Professor Zhijie Xu is the Head of the Department of Computing at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) and a distinguished scholar of Visual Computing with more than 30 years of experience spanning curriculum development, research publications, PhD supervision, and academic leadership. He holds prestigious honours including the National-level Talent Scheme (2025), SIP Leading Talents in Science and Education (2024), Sichuan Province “Thousand Talents Plan” (2018), and the Sichuan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award (2017). A former Chair of the Chinese Automation and Computing Society in the UK (CACSUK), he has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers, secured 11 international patents, and edited 6 books. He brings extensive leadership experience as former Director of the Centre for Visual and Immersive Computing (CVIC) at the University of Huddersfield, REF impact case study leader, and Chartered Manager (CMgr). His research interests span computer vision, computational geometry, real-time graphics, virtual and augmented reality, vSLAM, interactive visualisation, NLP, AIoT, and computational architecture and networks.
许志杰教授现任西安交通利物浦大学(XJTLU)计算机系主任,是视觉计算领域的杰出学者,拥有超过30年的课程开发、科研发表、博士生指导及学术领导经验。他荣获多项殊荣,包括国家级人才计划(2025年)、苏州工业园区科教领军人才(2024年)、四川省“千人计划”(2018年)以及四川省科技进步奖(2017年)。他曾任英国华人自动化与计算学会(CACSUK)主席,发表学术论文200余篇,拥有11项国际专利,并主编6部学术著作。他在研究机构领导、英国高校科研评估(REF)申报及重大科研项目管理方面经验丰富,曾任英国哈德斯菲尔德大学视觉与沉浸式计算中心(CVIC)主任、REF影响力案例研究负责人,并持有英国特许管理学会认证的皇家特许经理人(CMgr)资格。其研究兴趣涵盖计算机视觉、计算几何、实时图形学、虚拟与增强现实、视觉同步定位与地图构建(vSLAM)、交互式可视化、自然语言处理、人工智能物联网(AIoT)以及计算架构与网络。
