Personal profile

Personal profile

Dr. Yue Ma’s research lies at the intersection of computer vision, non-destructive testing (NDT), and multi-sensor fusion, with a particular emphasis on the research and application of machine vision. In visual perception, he focuses on deeply integrating heterogeneous sensor signals and building deployable systems for intelligent manufacturing, NDT, industrial inspection and monitoring related industrial scenarios. By leveraging key object detection methods and deep learning, he achieves precise recognition and tracking of multi-scale targets in complex environments, providing technical support for additive manufacturing, intelligent manufacturing, and special-purpose robotics. His current work also centers on embodied intelligent robots, exploring how platforms with multimodal perception and advanced locomotion can execute tasks in dynamic, complex settings.

Dr. Yue Ma’s group is continuously recruiting highly self-motivated undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students who are interested in these research areas to join the team or engage in collaborations. In recent years, students supervised by Dr. Ma—at both undergraduate and graduate levels—have successfully advanced to programs at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the University of Edinburgh, and Monash University, or have taken positions at leading companies such as China Southern Power Grid, State Grid, Shenzhen Capital Group, Huawei, and DJI.
