Academic Background:

Dr Yonas T. Megra completed his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from Addis Ababa University, a renowned institution and the top university in Ethiopia, in 2015 and 2017, respectively. In 2022, he obtained his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea, an esteemed institution ranked among the top 100 global universities by the QS World University Rankings. 

Research Potential and Achievements:

Dr. Yonas T. Megra is a researcher specializing in two-dimensional (2D) materials and molecular electronics. His research primarily focuses on the synthesis, transfer, and interfacial engineering of large-area graphene and related two-dimensional (2D) materials, with a particular emphasis on adhesion and fracture mechanics at 2D material–substrate interfaces. He also explores charge transport and quantum interference phenomena in molecular junctions, including electrochemical modulation of conductance in π-conjugated systems. By bridging interfacial science, quantum transport, and device engineering, his work aims to advance next-generation nanoelectronic, optoelectronic, and sensing technologies.
