Dr. Yicheng Wang holds a Ph.D. from the University of Liverpool, a Master’s degree from Macquarie University, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Exeter. His research focuses on AI-powered business analytics for international expansion, with particular emphasis on Chinese enterprises going global. His research agenda explores how artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and computer vision can support overseas market intelligence, cross-cultural communication, and strategic decision-making. It also connects these interests with sustainability disclosure, ESG, corporate culture, and sustainable finance, examining how firms build trust, navigate diverse institutional environments, and pursue sustainable growth across borders. His work has appeared in internationally recognised peer-reviewed journals, including JCR Q1 outlets.
Since joining Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), Dr. Wang has collaborated with multinational corporations such as Bosch on logistics digitalisation and optimisation, and contributed to government initiatives such as the Suzhou ESG Disclosure Platform, supporting tens of thousands of enterprises. These collaborations inform his practice-oriented research and his commitment to translating academic insights into tools and solutions for business and policy.
Dr. Wang’s teaching centres on project-based learning and human–AI collaboration. He has developed experiential courses at XJTLU that integrate industry challenges, business cases, and AI-enhanced learning, helping students connect analytical skills with practical decision-making. He has received multiple awards recognising teaching excellence and the sharing of innovative teaching practices.
Dr. Wang is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA Australia). Before joining XJTLU, he taught at Monash University’s Suzhou Campus, where he consistently received strong teaching evaluations.
