Dr. Yang Chen is an Associate Professor in Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), and has been the Programme Director of Economics and Finance programme during 2016-2019 and the Deputy Director of Research Institute of Economic Integration (RIEI) of XJTLU during 2016-2017. She had organized the XJTLU flagship event--the Conference of Asia and Pacific Economies (CAPE) for 12 years joint with the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) and has collaborated with Tsinghua University to organize the 11th International Conference on Chinese Economy: the Past, the Present, and the Future. She obtained PhD Degree in Economics from Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Her research interests mainly include urban economics, public finance, environmental economics, and development issues on Chinese economy. She has good publications in ABS-3* and ABDC A*(A) journals such as Asia Pacific Journal of Management, Business Strategy and the Environment, Cambridge Journal of Regions, Economy and Society, Economic Letters, Energy Economics, International Journal of Finance and Economics, Journal of Banking & Finance, Journal of Environmental Management, Oxford Economic Papers, and Urban Studies. Her research projects have been funded by Provincial Government of Jiangsu on talent agglomeration (江苏省双创博士集聚计划), by Lincoln Institute (林肯研究院) on fiscal decentralization, and by Asian Development Bank (亚洲银行) on innovation network. She has also published one book as well as multiple book chapters by Palgrave Macmillan. Yang's most recent research focus spans across Chinese green innovation transformation, individual inventor's patenting strategy, the synergy between culture & innovation at home and abroad, as well as data capital and global value chain.
