Dr. Xiaoxi Zhu is Assistant Professor at the XIPU Institution (Think Tank), XJTLU. She obtained her PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Her doctoral thesis focuses on the political economy of the Chinese film industry in post-WTO China, explicating the trend of depoliticised politics in China at large and its ramifications for Chinese cinema. Her research interests include cultural industry and policy, gender and media studies, mental health and communication, and discourse analysis.
