Dr. Xiaolong Lu is an Assistant Professor at the School of Intelligent Manufacturing Ecosystem, Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU). His research focuses on advanced materials processing, surface engineering, and additive manufacturing. After earning his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Soochow University in 2022, he worked as an Assistant Researcher and Postdoctoral Associate at the Suzhou Institute of Nano-Tech and Nano-Bionics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His international experience includes a visiting PhD position at Florida International University.
Dr. Lu actively serves the academic community as a Youth Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Materials Informatics, a member of the Young Scientist Committee of Advanced Powder Materials, and a guest editor for Coatings and Materials. He also reviews for multiple international journals in his field.
His research group seeks passionate, self-motivated students who are driven by scientific curiosity and enjoy developing innovative theories. Applications are welcome from PhD candidates, graduate students, and talented undergraduates. The ideal candidates should demonstrate strong initiative in pursuing novel research directions, while enthusiasm for discovery matters more than prior research experience.
