Dr Ting Li (Molly) is a Senior Language Lecturer, currently working as the ELC PG-T Coordinator in the School of Languages at XJTLU. She has worked in XJTLU for over 12 years and taught English language courses for 17 years. Before joining XJTLU, she received her Master’s degree in English for Specific Purposes (MA in ESP) and her Doctoral degree - Doctor of Education in English Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics (EdD in ELT and Applied Linguistics) at Warwick University in the UK. Her research interests lie in corpus-based study, meta-discourse, and academic writing.
Research interests
Dr. Ting Li’s main research interests lie in the areas of English academic writing, metadiscourse, cohesion, connectives, corpus linguistics, CALL, discourse analysis and contrastive rhetoric studies among Chinese students, 2+2 Chinese students and NS students. She presented parts of her research in connectives and metadiscourse at a number of conferences, such as the 8th-11th Warwick Postgraduate Conferences in Applied Linguistics, LangUE 2006 and LAEL-PG 2006.
