Tianshu is an Assistant Professor in Economics, the Deputy Director of MSc. Economics & Finance program, and a core member of the Research Centre of Excellence on Sustainability and ESG in IBSS. He obtained his BA MA in Economics from the University of Tokyo, PhD in Economics from the University of Virginia, and then worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the Darden School of Business on interdisciplinary projects in water resources. Before joining XJTLU, he was an assistant professor at the Institute of Urban Development of Nanjing Audit University.
Tianshu’s main fields of interest are Environmental & Resource Economics, Urban & Regional Economics, and Economic History. His recent research topics cover water market, water quality management, forestation, carbon emission, air pollution, inequality, etc. He has publications in both social sciences and interdisciplinary environmental sciences journals, including Nature Sustainability, Journal of Politics, Water Resources Research, Environmental Research Letters, Advances in Water Resources, The World Bank Economic Review, Land Economics, China Economic Review, etc.
Tianshu welcomes both intra- and inter-disciplinary collaborations, and is searching for postgraduate students with academic curiosity in related fields.
