Dr Lau Teck Chai is the Director of Entrepreneurship Education and Senior Associate Professor at the Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Hub (EEH), XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang), Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), China. He provides strategic leadership for entrepreneurship education, entrepreneurial learning innovation, and entrepreneurship research across XJTLU's Syntegrative Education ecosystem.
His work focuses on integrating entrepreneurship, innovation, industry engagement, interdisciplinary learning, and emerging technologies into undergraduate and postgraduate education. He collaborates closely with academic leaders, industry partners, government stakeholders, and international collaborators to develop future-ready graduates equipped for an increasingly dynamic world.
Dr Lau has held numerous academic leadership positions throughout his career and has published more than 70 journal articles with over 8,000 citations on Google Scholar. His research interests include entrepreneurship education, innovation management, technology adoption, sustainable development, and educational transformation. He is also co-author of widely adopted higher education textbooks, including Business Ethics and Business Research Methods, and has secured research funding from organisations such as the Sumitomo Foundation (Japan), the HEAD Foundation (Singapore), and the Academy of Sciences Malaysia.
He currently focuses on advancing entrepreneurship education through Syntegrative Education, industry-engaged learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and AI-enhanced educational innovation at XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang).
