Tanjun Liu is an Assistant Professor and Programme Director of English and Communication Studies in the Department of Applied Linguistics, XJTLU. Before joining XJTLU, she was a post-doc researcher at Hong Kong Baptist University, acting as the Project Manager for the SDF project, Writing across the Curriculum, which aims to build a university-wide longitudinal and cross-sectional learner corpus. Before moving to Hong Kong, Tanjun worked as an Associate Lecturer and a Researcher in the Department of Linguistics and English Language at Lancaster University, UK after obtaining her PhD degree. At Lancaster, she was a doctoral researcher at the ESRC Centre for Corpus Approaches to Social Science (CASS), involved in the Trinity Lancaster Corpus research group and supporting the MOOC Corpus Linguistics course. She is currently working on several projects, such as the British Council-funded project, Linguistic demands of EMI in Higher Education, and building a corpus of students' writing.
