Dr. Sichen Liu is currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Advanced Technology at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. She received her Ph.D. degree in Signal and Information Processing from the Institute of Acoustics, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2021. From 2021 to 2022, she served as an Audio Algorithm Research Scientist at Tencent, where she focused on audio fingerprinting systems for large-scale multimedia platforms. Her current research interests focus on AI research for audio/biomedical, covering sound event detection, speech enhancement and biomedical signal processing.
Dr. Liu has published 20+ papers in top-tier journals and conference proceedings and served as the reviewer in several high-impact journals and conferences like Circuits, Systems, and Signal Processing, Computer Science, Journal of Vibration and Shock, CVPR, ICASSP and ICMI. As Principal Investigator, she currently leads multiple national-, provincial-, and industry-funded research projects, including the NSFC Young Scientists Fund, State Key Laboratory Open Funds, among others. Her research is deeply rooted in practical application. Several research outcomes, such as UAV Acoustic Surveillance System, Urban Horn Detection System, and Large-scale Audio Fingerprinting System, have been successfully deployed in real-world industrial systems.
