Personal profile
Shu Deng joined Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) in 2011 and now serves as a Senior Language Lecturer at the Academic Literacies Centre, Global Cultures and Languages Hub. She holds an MA in Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics from Sichuan University, as well as an MA in Lifelong Learning: Policy and Management awarded jointly by the Institute of Education, University College London and Universidad de Deusto, Bilbao, Spain. Shu is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and is dedicated to promoting teaching excellence and student success across multiple academic levels.

Teaching
Since joining XJTLU, Shu has taught a diverse range of courses spanning Year 1 undergraduate to postgraduate levels. She previously served as module leader for several Year 1 and Year 2 modules and was Head of the Design Division at the English Language Centre. Currently, she is a core member of the PSE team, continuing her commitment to delivering high-quality language education.
