Dr Rui Ding is Assistant Professor of Accounting. She holds a PhD in Accounting from the University of New South Wales, a Master of Applied Statistics from the Pennsylvania State University, and a Bachelor of Commerce (First Class Honours) from the Australian National University. Prior to earning her graduate degrees, she worked as a Chartered Accountant in Australia.
Her research explores the intersections of accounting, economics, and finance, with a particular focus on how information and incentives shape decision-making within and between firms and in financial markets. She teaches and develops curricula in both financial accounting and management accounting and supervises postgraduate students. Dr Rui Ding is a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ), an FSA Credential Holder, and a Fellow of Higher Education Academy. She has received multiple teaching awards in recognition of her contributions to higher education.
Research interests
Ruis research spans the fields of financial reporting, management accounting and corporate finance, including corporate disclosure, investment decisions, risk management, strategy, ESG, management controls and inter-firm relationships.
