Dr. Qian Zhang gracefully commenced his appointment as Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Xian Jiaotong-Liverpool University in November 2020. Holding a Ph.D. degree, he pursued his doctoral studies under the esteemed guidance of Professor Cheng-Wei Tom Chang at Utah State University, delving into the intricate synthesis of novel aminoglycosides. Subsequently, he honed his skills in post-doctoral research at the University of Notre Dame, where he spent a fruitful year working alongside Professor Shahriar Mobashery. Before joining Xian Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Dr. Zhang gained valuable industrial experience by working in a pharmaceutical company for four years. His research endeavors are centered on the innovative development of methodologies in organic chemistry and the synthesis of bioactive small molecules, making him a valuable addition to the academic community.
