Manxi Liu

Dr. Manxi Liu brings in over twelve years of professional experience in higher education management and cross-cultural collaboration. Prior to joining XJTLU, she held various administrative and leadership roles at leading global universities including Head of Dean’s Office at Schwarzman College, Associate Director of MBA Programmes and Head of Dean’s Office at the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University, and Programme Manager in the Executive Education division at Columbia Business School. Earlier in her career, Dr. Liu worked at Ogilvy Public Relations specialising in cross-cultural branding and communications. She has been actively engaged in non-profit initiatives, contributing to public engagement in education.

She holds a PhD in Comparative and International Higher Education, and her research explores the broader societal impact of higher education institutions beyond their traditional academic functions of teaching and research. Her research interests focus on the intersection of universities’ missions, governance structure, and external engagement, drawing on policy and practice in diverse global contexts. Dr. Liu has teaching experience across undergraduate, master’s and doctoral levels in the UK, the US, and China.
