Lingxiao Zhao is currently working as a full professor in the school of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Computing (AIAC) at XJTLU. Before joining XJTLU, he worked as a research PI and the Director of the AI for Biomedical Engineering Laboratory at Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology (SIBET), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He received his MSc and PhD in Medical Image Processing and Visualization from Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in 2004 and 2011, respectively. During this period, he conducted his research work as a part of the advanced development of CT imaging and visualization for computer-aided diagnosis in virtual colonography inside of Philips Healthcare, Best, the Netherlands. He then worked as a permenant employee at Philips Healthcare and Philips Research in the Netherlands for about 7 years. In Sep 2015, he joined SIBET as a Distinguished Researcher of CAS 100 Talents Programme. He worked also as a prorfessor and PhD supervisor in the Biomedical Engineering Department of University of Science and Technology of China (USTC, Suzhou), as well as a Guest Professor at Fudan University. In recent years, he has directed or participated various projects, including 3 National / 2 CAS / 2 Jiangsu Provincial / 2 Suzhou Municipal Key Technology R&D programs and more than 10 enterprise collaborative projects. His current research focuses on AI-assisted biomedical image processing and clinical diagnosis and treatment, 3D computer graphics and visualization. He also has extensive experience in using Virtual Reality for clinical intraoperative navigation and assistance.
