LIM Lee Wei is currently an Associate Professor at XJTLU; and an Honorary Full Professor of Neuroscience at Maastricht University and Istanbul Atlas University; and a Visiting Professor at Hubei University of Medicine. He was previously an Assistant Professor in the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, the University of Hong Kong. After completing his MD, master's and PhD degrees, Dr Lim spent several years of research fellowships at Maastricht University, University of Oxford, and Nanyang Technological University. Dr. Lim is honored to have been elected as a Life Member and Academician of the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia, a Life Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology, and an UNESCO Executive Committee Member of Anti-aging and Disease Prevention, France. 

Dr Lim’s research is focused on translational neuroscience, looking at cutting-edge neuromodulation and psychopharmacological treatments for psychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders. Dr Lim has successfully obtained 41 grants (≈RMB 27.2 mil) as principal/co-investigator from various prestigious grant agencies. As primary supervisor, he has trained numerous PhD (11), masters (25), and undergraduate thesis/final year project (41) students. He has contributed extensively to the field of neuromodulation and neuropsychiatric research, with 150 published articles and one US patent, and his papers have been cited more than 5700 times with an H-index of 39 in Google Scholar.

林禮偉現任西交利物浦大學副教授,同時擔任荷蘭馬斯特里赫特大學、土耳其伊斯坦堡阿特拉斯大學榮譽正教授,以及湖北醫藥學院客座教授。他曾任香港大學李嘉誠醫學院助理教授,並擁有豐富的國際教育與研究背景。林教授畢業於克里米亞國立醫科大學獲得醫學學士,後於馬斯特里赫特大學分別獲得情緒神經科學碩士和神經科學博士學位,及馬來西亞雙威大學生物學博士學位。他擁有馬斯特里赫特大學、牛津大學及南洋理工大學等頂尖機構的博士後研究經驗。林博士致力於轉化神經科學領域的研究,聚焦神經調控技術(如深部腦部刺激、跨角膜電刺激、迷走神經刺激等)與精神藥理學(如猴頭菇、靈芝活性成分及神經營養因子等)在精神疾病和神經退化性疾病的應用。他已累積主持並參與41項競爭性科研項目,總經費約2720萬元人民幣,發表論文150篇,Google Scholar 被引5700次,H指數39,並擁有一項美國專利及多項在申專利。其研究成果多次發表於Nature Communications、Aging and Disease、Brain Stimulation 等高影響力期刊,並獲得包括日內瓦國際發明展銀獎在內的多項國際發明獎項。林博士為馬來西亞醫學專科學院終身院士、英國皇家生物學會終身院士,並擔任聯合國教科文組織(UNESCO)抗衰老與疾病預防執行委員會委員、法國深部腦刺激學會秘書等職務。他也曾獲「馬來西亞十大傑出青年」(科技類)、「影響世界的十位馬來西亞科學家」等榮譽,以及亞洲太平洋神經化學學會青年 investigator 獎等學術獎項。林博士積極參與國際學術交流,多次受邀在國際會議主題報告,並擔任Deep Brain Stimulation等國際期刊副編輯。他透過跨學科合作推動神經科學前沿研究,尤其在神經調控技術與藥物開發的結合方面具有廣泛學術影響力。林博士迄今作為主要導師指導了至少11名博士生、25名碩士生及41名本科生的論文研究,並擔任106名本科實習生的指導老師。多名其指導的學生獲得香港PhD Fellowship等著名獎學金,並在劍橋大學、香港大學等知名學府繼續深造或從事科研工作。(詳見 https://www.drlimlab.com/publication)。

Research interests

Research Interests: Clinical & preclinical research in neurological and psychiatric diseases.

Neuromodulation: DBS (electrical/nanoparticle/optogenetic), VNS, TMS, & tDCS.

Neuropsychopharmacology: Hericium erinaceus, Ganoderma lucidum, & Melatonin.

Disease models: Depression, PD, Aging, & AD models.

 

Looking for a Position ??? 

We are seeking several highly motivated undergraduate and master/PhD students to work on clinical or preclinical neuromodulation and/or neuropsychopharmacology research in neurological and psychiatric diseases.

For PhD study, he/she must hold a bachelor degree with First-Class/2nd Upper Class Honours and/or a master's degree with distinction and relevant background in biomedical sciences or medicine from Top 100 QS World University Ranking. Students will be provided with a scholarship or self-funding. At the end of the study, a degree from the University of Liverpool will be awarded.
