Dr LIM Lee Wei is currently an Associate Professor at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, China. He was an Assistant Professor in the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, the University of Hong Kong. After completing his MD, master and PhD degrees, Dr Lim spent several years of research fellowships at Maastricht University, University of Oxford, and Nanyang Technological University. Dr. Lim is honored to have been elected as a Life Member of the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia, a Life Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology, and an UNESCO Executive Committee Member of Anti-aging and Disease Prevention, France. 

Dr Lim’s research is currently focused on translational neuroscience, looking at existing cutting-edge neuromodulation and psychopharmacological treatments for psychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders. He has contributed extensively to the field of neuromodulation and neuropsychiatric research, with 133 published articles and his papers have been cited more than 4900 times with an H-index of 35 (Google Scholar).

林礼伟博士为西交利物浦大学理学院副教授,之前曾在香港大学李嘉诚医学院担任助理教授。在完成医学博士、硕士和博士学位后,林博士在马斯特里赫特大学、牛津大学和南洋理工大学进行了多年的研究工作。林博士同时为马来西亚医学院终身院士、皇家生物学学会终身院士,以及法国UNESCO执行委员会成员。目前,林博士的研究重点是神经调控以及精神病和神经退行性疾病的精神药理学治疗。他在神经调控和神经精神病学研究领域作出了显著贡献,已发表133篇学术文章,其论文被引用超过4900次,谷歌学术H指数为35。

Research interests

Neuromodulation: Deep brain stimulation, transcorneal electrical stimulation, transauricular vagus nerve/optogenetic stimulation, and tDCS.

Neuropharmacology: Hericium erinaceus, Ganoderma lucidum, melatonin, SSRIs.

Disease models: Aging, Alzheimer’s disease, anxiety and depression models.

We are seeking several highly motivated undergraduate and master/PhD students who would like to work on neuromodulation and/or neuropsychopharmacology research in neurological and psychiatric diseases. For postgraduate study, applicants must hold a degree of bachelor with First/Second Upper-Class Honours and/or a master degree with relevant background in biological or biomedical sciences or medicine.
