Dr. Kanghong Wang is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Materials Science at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) in Suzhou, China. Before he joined XJTLU, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Nanoscience and Technology at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He received his PhD at the Institute of National Research of Science (INRS), Canada. His research experience includes developing core/shell Quantum Dots (QDs) with multiple modulations on the size, structure, and surface, as well as nanomaterial engineering for the application on photocatalysis and photoelectrocatalysis. He is also interested in optoelectronic devices based on colloidal QDs for neuromorphic computing. His research efforts have resulted in many publications, including Nature Sustainability, Chemical Society Reviews, Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, etc.

He is interested in the design and synthesis of novel QDs as well as nanomaterials and their potential applications in solar-to-fuel conversion (such as hydrogen evolution, CO2 reduction, biomass upgrading). He is also interested in advanced optoelectronic devices, such as photodetector, synapse for neuromorphic computing.
