Dr. Kang Dang obtained his PhD from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His work focuses on developing innovative artificial intelligence solutions for medical applications. Dr. Dang has published in prestigious journals and conferences, including Nature Medicine, Cell Patterns, IEEE JBHI, MICCAI, AAAI, and ICCV, and holds seven patents. He has also led teams at companies like VoxelCloud, where he developed AI products for skin disease identification, retinal disease diagnosis, and COVID-19 detection.
At Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Dr. Dang is dedicated to educating and mentoring the next generation of technology professionals. He collaborates with leading hospitals, including Shanghai Ruijin Hospital, Beijing Xiehe Hospital, and Shanghai No. 9 Hospital, while driving cutting-edge research within the university’s AI for Digital Health Laboratory. Additionally, he serves as the AIAC School Final Year Project (FYP) Coordinator.
Dr. Dang is also an active contributor to the academic community, serving as a reviewer for top conferences and journals, including MM25, ICCV25, CVPR25, AAAI24/25, MICCAI23/24, and IEEE TMM, TCSVT, and TIP. Moreover, he serves as the Area Chair (AC) for MICCAI 2025.
