Dr. Jong Hoon Shin joined the School in July 2025 as an Assistant Professor of Economics. He earned his Ph.D. in Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics (AEDE) from The Ohio State University, and holds an M.A. in Economics from Seoul National University and a B.S. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Jong Hoon’s research employs experimental, theoretical, econometric, and machine learning methods to study the field of applied economics. He focuses on understanding economic outcomes for farmers and addressing broader environmental challenges, tackling key issues like agricultural technology adoption, production, resilience, sustainability, and marketing strategies.
