Dr Joe Lo Ying Tuan is the Undergraduate Director and Assistant Professor at Xi’an Jiaotong–Liverpool University (XJTLU). He holds a First-Class Honours degree in Marketing and a PhD in Management from the University of Technology Malaysia.
Before joining XJTLU, Joe led the Business Foundation Year at the University of Southampton Malaysia. He was also one of the founding members of the Southampton Malaysia Business School, where he played a key role in shaping and accrediting both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Joe’s research interests lie in service quality, service marketing, food quality, and consumer emotions, especially within the context of hospitality and dining experiences. His work has been published in many respected peer-reviewed international journals.
Outside of teaching and research, Joe is an active member of the Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM) and the Institute of Marketing Malaysia (IMM), reflecting his ongoing commitment to both academic and professional communities in management and marketing.
