Personal profile

Jingfei Zhang obtained her Master’s degree with distinction in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from University College London in 2019. She joined Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) as an Associate Language Lecturer at the School of Languages in 2021 and completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Supporting Learning in Higher Education with distinction in 2023. She is currently pursuing an EdD, focusing on AI-assisted feedback, Project-Based Learning (PBL) and their roles in enhancing academic writing and learner motivation in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) contexts. With a strong interest in student engagement and digital pedagogies, Jingfei’s research explores the use of Generative AI in language education, gamification in EFL classrooms, and the role of feedback in shaping learner motivation and writing performance. She has a growing interest in investigating how AI-assisted feedback can support academic writing development and how immersive and gamified approaches foster vocabulary acquisition. In addition, she is also interested in exploring students’ willingness to communicate (WTC) and how emerging technologies can support autonomous learning in transnational higher education contexts.
