Dr. Jinbo He is an associate professor in the Department of Biosciences and Bioinformatics, School of Science, Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Suzhou, China. Dr. He previously served as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Applied Psychology at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (2019-2025) and as an Associate Professor at Hunan University (2018-2019).

His research focuses on health psychology (e.g., eating behaviors, body image, obesity, as well as their links with psychosocial well-being, and related prevention/intervention strategies) and quantitative methods (e.g., advanced statistics, big data analytics, longitudinal cohort analysis, and machine learning).

Dr. He has led multiple national and regional research projects, including a National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) project. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed SCI/SSCI papers as first or corresponding author in the fields of psychology and related areas, including several ESI Highly Cited Papers; the majority of the publications are in JCR Q1 (based on impact factors) journals (e.g., Clinical and Health Psychology related journals: Clinical Psychology Review, Health Psychology Review, International Journal of Eating Disorders, Body Image, European Eating Disorder Review, and Appetite; Research Methodology Related Journals: Structural Equation Modeling and Assessment).

His work has been cited over 6,000 times according to Google Scholar (h-index = 40). He has been recognized as one of Stanford/Elsevier’s World’s Top 2% of scientists in 2025 (2025全球前2%顶尖科学家).

He serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Eating Disorders (JCR Q1; 中科院医学大类2区) and Performance Enhancement & Health (JCR Q1; 中科院医学大类2区) and sits on editorial boards of multiple international journals (e.g., Body Image, International Journal of Eating Disorders). He has received both the Presidential Exemplary Teaching Award and the Young Scholar Research Award from CUHKSZ.
