Huanruo Wang (王涣若) joined the Department of Media and Communications as an assistant professor in 2024. She received her doctoral degree in East Asian Languages and Civilizations from Harvard University in 2023. Huanruo's research interests lie in modern and contemporary Chinese media cultures, especially documentary and the expanding forms and practices of reality-based media, and the evolving media ecologies in which they take shape. She has conducted fieldwork in media industries diversely as assistant director, editor and production assistant.
