Personal profile

Dr. Chenxiu Ling earned her PhD in Actuarial Science from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, in 2014. She is currently Senior Associate Professor at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, and is serving as Programme Director of the MSc Applied Statistics (Biostatistics pathway) since 2025. Her research focuses on longitudinal and survival modeling, causal mediation analysis , and extreme modelling with applications in public health, quantitative risk management, and prognostic analysis of neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Ling has been recognized as an International Discipline Leader (2021–2022) by the Dushu Lake Higher Education District and as a Jiangsu Province Young and Middle-aged Academic Leader (2022–2025). She contributes professionally as a Council Member of the Society of Applied Statistics in Jiangsu Province (2022–2025) and previously directed the BSc Actuarial Science programme at XJTLU (2019–2021).
