Alessandro Cece is Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), China. He holds a Master of Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture Luigi Vanvitelli, Università degli Studi della Campania, Italy, and a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP) at Columbia University, New York City. He earned his Ph.D. in Architectural and Urban Design from the Università degli Studi della Campania, Italy.

His academic career spans several leading international institutions. He has served as Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Architecture, Università degli Studi della Campania; as Instructor at Iowa State University, College of Design, Rome Program; and as Assistant Professor at Ajman University, UAE. At XJTLU, he has held the role of Associate Dean for Research at the Design School.

His research and design practice engages with Architectural and Urban Design, Theory and Criticism of Modern and Contemporary Architecture, with a particular focus on Typological and Morphological Studies within the Italian tradition. His design research includes an extended collaboration with Peter Eisenman at Eisenman Architects, New York.

He has participated in major international competitions and exhibitions, including Il Nuovo Palazzo del Cinema ed Aree Limitrofe, Venice; the Stazione Ferroviaria Circumvesuviana Pompei Santuario, Pompei; and the exhibition Peter Eisenman: Barefoot on White-Hot Walls at the MAK, Vienna.

A licensed architect in Italy (Ordine degli Architetti P.P.C., Province of Caserta), Cece has published with several international publishers and served as Editor of Compasses, a Middle East-based international architecture magazine. He currently serves as Deputy Director of the Sino-Italian Urban Regeneration HUB at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University.
