Alessia Orazzo is a PhD researcher in the Department of International Studies at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University under the supervision of Dr. Alessandra Cappelletti (XJTLU) and Prof. David Dolowitz (UoL). Her current research explores the transformation of urban governance in post-pandemic China, with a particular focus on neighbourhood-level institutions and participatory mechanisms.
She also has a broader interest in the use of social media in China, as well as the role of new technologies in governance and digital surveillance.
