Description
This research visit forms part of the ARC304 Final Year Project studio, focusing on “Living without water: the other side of climate change.” Over nine days, students and tutors will investigate climate change, desertification, and sustainable architectural responses in Sicily. The visit includes collaboration with the University of Palermo, the Port Authority of Palermo for understanding the last sustainable activities and projects ongoing in the territory, field explorations at Pergusa Lake, and engagement with local authorities, communities, and farmers. Through site analysis, cultural and historical studies, and participatory sessions, the activity provides hands-on research experience, fostering cross-cultural collaboration and innovative design thinking in response to environmental challenges.| Period | 15 Jan 2025 → 23 Jan 2025 |
