Millimeter wave (mmWave) radar has emerged as a key technology for target detection in applications such as drone detection, autonomous vehicles, security systems, and robotics. This project aims to develop a target detection system based on mmWave radar. The students will get hands-on experience by assembling the IWR1642 module with the DCA1000EVM module to set up a radar system, based on the existing guidelines. Furthermore, the students will gain knowledge about how to transmit and receive the radar signal. Noticeably, students will understand the overall processing of how to detect the target by radar and measure the parameters of the target such as the direction, range, and moving velocity of the target.
