Description
This contribution explores the relationship between Italian architectural heritage and contemporary Chinese contexts, highlighting how archetypes such as the courtyard and spatial sequence find renewed meaning across cultures. Drawing from examples in Suzhou, Beijing hutong, and the works of Wang Shu and Liu Jiakun, the text argues that heritage is not static preservation but living matter, activated through transformation. Architecture, seen as a critical practice, becomes a tool to construct relationships between times, cultures, and places, where difference is not a barrier but the ground for a dynamic continuity.| Period | 28 May 2025 |
