This keynote addressed the theme of Smart Inclusive Transitions through the lens of collaborative, field-oriented, and citizen-centred urban innovation. Framed by the 2026 Suwon Smart Inclusive Transition Forum and the 13th anniversary of the Suwon Research Institute, it reflects on how smart technologies can be implemented to genuinely support community needs, local futures, and inclusive development. Drawing on collaboration between Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Seoul National University, and UN-Habitat, the keynote highlights the value of Asian perspectives, particularly from Korea, Japan, and China, in translating broad smart city ambitions into practical, locally grounded, and socially responsive action.
